Can anyone tell me the difference in the different recording disc formats? I know the difference in DVD & CD :D, but what's all the -R, +R, etc... Ones that I've seen are:

  2. DVD-R and DVD+R and recordable DVD's which can be used once only.
DVD-RW and DVD+RW are Re-Writable, which can be used, then wiped and re-used.

That's all I know, dunno the difference between + and - though.

+ is supported by the DVD+RW Alliance, which exists only to foster this specific format. Look for this trademark: [IMG]

    - is supported by the DVD Forum, which exists to govern and maintain specifics for all DVDs with the logo: [IMG]. This includes conventional movie DVDs, DVD-Audio, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, and probably a couple others.

    - is slightly more compatible with standalone DVD-Video players, but there are players that will do + and not -.

Lots of information at www.dvdrhelp.com .
  4. On a DVD+ the Digital "1" is the reflective, where the "0" is the non-reflective, with DVD- the "1" is the non-reflective part, and the "0" is reflective, it might be the other way around tho
