EA vl-210/nl-210

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by thehurlatron, Sep 21, 2005.

  1. Does anyone have the specs on a Euphonic Audio VL-210? I have one, and I'd like to compare it to a NL-210, but the EA site doesn't list the old vl specs.
I was thinking of adding another EA 210 to the mix, but I don't know what the differences are.

    Thanks

  2. On some thread recently Tom Bowlus compared the two. If you check for all of his posts in the public profile, you will find his thoughts. As I recall he said the NL was better balanced throughout the range, while still being thicker and warmer. But maybe my memory is not so good.

  3. Thanks! I think I got the info I needed after scrolling through all 35 pages of his posts!!

Cool! I was about to post you a link. Or, you could check my blog, down near the bottom.

I have not tried the two of them together. That could be interesting.

With a bit of work on Google I found the following post from Tom Bowlus from 2003.

    The link is http://www.talkbass.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-99963.html

Here are the specs for the VL-210 per an EA spec sheet that JD sent me:

    Crossover: 1.3 kHz, 8 kHz
    Drivers:
    Woofers - 2 @ 10"
    Midrange - 2 @ 5 1/4"
    Tweeter - 1 @ 4 3/16
    Impedence - 8 Ohm (4 Ohm optional)
    Power Handling - 500w
    Response:
    Low - 38 Hz
    High - 18 kHz
    Sensitivity - 100 db
    Height - 23 1/8"
    Width - 19 1/2"
    Depth - 16"
    Weight - 70 lbs
    Sound Pressure Leve - 127 db @ 1m

The VL-210B uses a heavier duty magnet. Actually, I think that John told me that there were 66 oz., 80 oz., and 105 oz. magnets used in the VL-210's. The B uses either the 80 oz. or the 105 oz.

    Hope this helps, Tom.
