Amazing value and quality for the price. I'd let my life depend on them if i had too. The AB basses are the best deal on a 6 string you can find anywhere, too bad i really don't like the sound and the ridiculously narrow nut. It probably makes a really good 6-string piccolo though, and i might get a Hazze Wazeen too if i can afford it. If you like the feel and sound, why not?

  3. They are very popular here in Mexico.. and very affordable. Great for the price.
I've never seen the models featured in the website thought.. Only older ones.

You have... Sam Ash has been selling several of these under the "Carlo Robelli" name for a few years now. My guess is that Eagle is getting the same basses from Korea (or Vietnam) under their brand name.

  8. Well.. I've seen some Carlo Robelli's in BassPLayer ads and they dont look quite similar tome, and actually Eagle guitars are supposed to be designed in Sweden.

Two of the basses I distinctly remember Sam Ash selling a few years ago were the "Hazze Wazeen" and "AB Bass IV" Models. They might have been selling them under their "Brownsville" line.

Check out this link from Harmony Central:

EDIT: The "Carlo Robelli" line is exclusive to Sam Ash... It's a name they made up to sell their house brand.

Regarding the Swedish thing... I just noticed this at the top of their website:

"Modern basses, Swedish Design - Korean Craftmanship - the best combination for great value" I suppose some of the models were designed by them :meh:

I see a Brownsville Bat bass, but it doesn't match the Eagle ones...it is $199.

I wonder if a a few mods (like a pickup or two) could make one of these (the Eagle AB IV) into an interesting experiment on the cheap. I've been 5-string exclusive for most of my time on bass, and I've been picky about the 5-strings since I feel like that 5th string pushes some limits in terms of design vs. me being happy with them (decent B string, not too heavy, wide enough spacing but not too wide, neck heaviness, etc)--but when I try 4-strings they most often seem decent enough. I have an E-mail in to the company asking where they are available in the US...

    Was thinking this one
