I am putting together a new jazz bass project, and it has that classic copper ground strap that goes from the bridge to the pickup. I am wondering about the way it is wired into the cavity given the strange bend of the ground strap once it reaches the pickup.

Does anyone have any pictures of this?

    4. Fender Vintage '62 Jazz Bass brass bridge grounding strap. This thin piece of bent brass strap goes from under the bridge plate into the bridge pickup cavity where it is soldered to the brass grounding plate under that pickup. Nice part for restoring older Jazz Basses or reissues. GENUINE FENDER NEW OLD STOCK '80s FACTORY REPLACEMENT PARTS! Fender Part # "019659". Very limited stock.EACH $9.99

Search under Fender Bass Grounding Plates on the page at the link. No pic but it's the piece you want. Angela Instruments won't win any awards for their website but they do have a selection of things that not many other places do ...

It connects to ground, which could be the back of a pot.

The strap is the bridge grounding wire. They didn't drill for ground wires on that bass.
