I have a Squier Jaguar with just one Humbucker and I want to replace it with maybe an EMG of some sort. I have absolutely no technical experience. I was wondering how I would go about replacing my pickup?

EMG Actives use a quick connect system so it's quite easy to replace. The HZ use them as well but they're they're traditional soldered connection on the pot.

The "hard" part is to desolder the old pickup from the pot.
  3. 1. Take photographs so you can get the wiring back as it was!
    2. Draw a circuit diagram of the current wiring. Read up about guitar circuits.
    3. Get the soldering iron out (get a decent one) and desolder the pickup connections.
    4. Whip that baby out and replace.
    5. Solder up the new pickup making sure you earth as previously or as advised in TB.
    6. Admire handwork and glow and then test it out!
