On Eastwood's website, there is not a whole lot of information about the pickups on that bass. Are they humbuckers or giant single coils? As usual, RJ made a demo rocking the bass: I wonder if @RJizzle100 could enligthen us?

Gunga Din , when I first got my first Ric about fifteen years ago I read about bypassing a cap they have on the bridge pickup that removes much of the bottom end from the pickup . I went of the Ric Resource forum to ask about it . Some guy named John Hall took the time to explain the bypass . I didn't realize until about two weeks later that he owned the company . And I believe Rickenbacker should try and protect their designs . They have always done their manufacturing at home , they do not license third world knockoffs . And they have zealously protected their product . That said , this instrument is an interesting take on a couple of Ric shapes . And yet is not a direct copy of any Ric instrument .
RJ rules in every demo and video and I had no idea he even played bass. That bass is very cool though. Kind of like a jazz bass crossed with a mosrite and a ric. I’m very intrigued.
He does a really cool vid playing an Eastwood sidejack bass vi playing 4 different parts that is so cool. He does a lot a vids for Eastwood. I wish I knew more about him and any recorded music he’s done. found it not meant as a thread hi-jack
I’ve got one of these and those pickups are probably the hottest output I’ve ever seen in a bass. When I got it I had to take a screwdriver and lower both of them to prevent distortion when recording. Once I got them set to the right height, the bass sounds amazing. One of the best sounding, and playing, basses I own.
As I understand it this is a joint venture between Rivolta Guitars and Eastwood Guitars https://www.rivoltaguitars.com/combinata-bass-vii
Tell me all about it! How’s the weight? Is the neck chunky or thin? What strings do you have on it? How’s the sound? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I’m considering one of these to replace my well-loved, but heavy 4003 and there isn’t much first hand experience out there.
Those have intrigued me since the first time I saw them. I read that they're also 32" scale, which is neat.
I would love to try a 32 in scale , I'm an old Pbass guy that loves short scales . I also love a nice Ric , and this looks like a Ric that was never made into a bass version . The black ones were mahogany and the natural/burst ones are said to be maple so I wonder if there's a weight difference . I would love to try one before buying ...
I don't have one. I just lust for it like I lust for Eva Mendes. Rivolta Combinata Bass VII demo with RJ Ronquillo - YouTube
