    I don't know much about Laklands, but I know that they're expensive...and read the description and saw Korea and well, the final bid.

    I'm like...dang...crazy ppls...

    Yeah it seems these Laklands go way up if a bunch of people bid early. I'd be tempted to sell my Glaub that I got for 700, but it's too nice! :D

    It makes you wonder what these people do? Just find a bass and say "I need that! I don't care enough to look around at all for one, even though they're cheaper brand new!" ? No offense, just interesting to put that much down w/out a real care.

  11. OK!
    But what about bidders? They should go into shops and look for retail price of those...

    That's what I was thinking, but I'm not up on Lakeland's offerings so I wasn't sure if there was something (actually) valuable about the color...

    DJs are now only available in black, white, and LP blue and its been that way for a while. If you want something else, you either have to step up to a USA, or pick another bass. I've never even seen a pic of a red DJ until this one, so it's somewhat rare.

    That being said, he still paid too much. Probably just got too attached to the thought of having it and wouldn't let go.

    I need to put my '80's Global JB copy on EBay. Tell ya what, they don't make them natural finish/maple neck JBs any more (well, yeah, Fender does, but so what?). And it has a beatup Fender case I paid $40 for, when I pitched the cardboard original. Probably I'll set the reserve at...hmmm oh, $18K.

    I don't care if you are going to let it go for the paltry sum of $18 grand,

    { :D J/K, I know you're not actually posting something for sale}

    Well, I've mentioned before how MIT did a study on eBay and showed that the majority of times people pay more than retail - they financed the study by buying webcams for retail and selling them for more on eBay!! ;)
