Yeah, I miss the metal control plate too. I hope you can add it yourself or something.

  8. No Sterlings pictured?

    -edit-

    Wait, I saw it.

Looks sexy... but... I would never trade my original Sterling. For anything.

The production models of the Stingray 4 strings will have the crescent moon control plate. They built prototypes both ways.

i guess i'm too used to the traditional stingray one pickup design. The stingray 4 and 5s with the additional single/hum pickup look kinda odd to me.

I associate double pickups more with the bongo.

Anyone here feel the same way as me?

The loss of that metal plate is a little dissapointing. But damn do those bases look sweet anyway, and the sound from a double pick up stingray! That would be madness. Just wait till someone on the forum gets their hands on one.

  16. Oooooh, nice !

Does anyone know exactly what the selector switch does on the new double PU Stingray and Sterlings ?

Have you even played the Bongo? I can't imagine there's a good number of Bongos over there for you to try out. Maybe I'm wrong but the electronics that include the pickups is what makes the bongo so great. The modern looks is an added bonus.

Good to see Apple representing at the EBMM booth. :bag:

You can see the EBMM forum logo on the screen if you look closely enough. EBMM has been providing tons of info on the new models over at their forum. :)
