Ebony Board Finishin

Discussion in 'Luthier's Corner' started by ZenBass, Aug 1, 2004.

  1. On my project bass the fretboard is AAA Grade Ebony and the neck has already been fretted but the board has not protective finish on it like my GBs ebony board...that has a Satin finish on it..

Can this be done while the fret are still on
Should this be done once its been fretted?

If i used Lots of Lem-oil would this be a good replacement for the satin finish as ebony is a very dense wood and is not prone to the smae problems such as maple...

    Just a thought..!!!!
