EBS : FAFNER vs TD650???

    does anybody know the difference of sound between those two very similar heads?

    BTW I know this hasn't anything to do with sound (as you asked), but from what I've heard, the Fafner heads were pulled from the US because people were having issues (with them blowing up I believe), not sure if the European ones have the same problem?
  4. Interesting. My bluestripe (recent) Fafner has been a model of reliability. There were some technical improvements made along with the cosmetic changes, but it's hard to live down that kind of reputation once you've got it.

    Sorry - can't offer a comparison as I've never heard or played a TD650.

    .. I have the answer from the EBS td 650 faq:
    The td650 can be used like a fafner with the tube section, or like a 650watts hd350(solid state).

    Moreover, a speaker simultion is incoporated in the td650.
    The back panel has a power amp input.
  6. Another UK TBer - Seashorepunk - has mad a few comments about the Fafners no longer being available - must be something those rumours - I love EBS whatever amp it is - even the little 150W Drome's are amazing...
