Guys, im deciding between EBS Metal Drive and Palmer PEBUT Overdrive, with one is more tight sounding for modern metal? I aslo got a question - does EBS MetalDrive works with 9v battery or only with power supply?

Check out the Darkglass B3K. Nails that tight gritty sound.

Yes the esb metaldrive will work fine with a 9-volt adapter.

It is highly, highly recommended to only use pedals with a CLEAN blend. Although the Palmer has that, I think it's overdrive doesn't sound very good and the EBS has sort of a built in low frequency bypass but you cannot really control it. With that new EBS Fuzzmo you can actually go from triangular to square waves which can sound REALLY sick. And it has a dedicated clean blend :)

Edit: That said, I'd still go for the EBS for it has the nicer drive sound.
