I finally had a chance to do a side-by-side comparison of these two pedals, the EBS Multi Drive and the Roger Mayer Voodoo Bass.

In short, I'll say both were very capable of producing extreme crunch, but the Multi Drive allowed me to scale back as much (or as little) distortion as I wanted, whereas the Voodoo Bass sounded pretty extreme even at the lowest settings.

Also, the EBS pedal sounded just a touch better in the lows. But, both pedals had tremendous distortion capabilities. If you're in the market for a distortion pedal, I'd list both of these at the top of my list!:D

Sorry this mini-review is so short, I'm off to a job interview. Wish me luck!:D

Oh great, now Bowie's Five Years is stuck in my head.

Wait, that's a good thing.

I thought the Voodoo was a fuzz anyway?

I recall a review of the Voodoo Bass by someone here a while back who described it as sounding like "an angry 1000 pound bumble-bee". That sounds like fuzz to me.

I thought so as well. Most of his pedals are fuzz or so I thought.

I justed wanted a comparison of the Voodoo Bass to a pedal whose I know.

Sounds like false advertising on the Roger Mayer site, then. :meh:
