I really want a Fanfer but am being told that they are no longer available in the US which doesn't make much sense.

anyhoo, the nice people at BC tell me that the TD 650 is the replacement.

Anyone used both the Fafner and the 650 ? Or just the 650. I am familiar with the Fafner.

    thanks,
    Don

  2. The Fafner is still available on the EBS VIP pricelist in two models: standard and the gold limited edition. It may have been a decision of the distributor (in NY I believe) not to import.

Sorry, I have a Fafner but haven't tried the TD650. I seem to recall some threads on this in the past, so you might find something with a search. Good luck.

The Fafner and TD650 are very different amps in terms of sound, even though the 650 has a valve tone option.
In no way does one replace the other.

yeah i know they are completely different ! YOu would think if the Fafner was discontinued like the cat from bass central told me then they would be off the EBS website. This guy told me the 650 was the replacement which makes no sense at all.
