EBS Wah One dry/wet signal volume issue

hi everyone! I own an EBS wah one already for a long time, don’t use it often though. It is an early version with a nickeled (?) pedal, not black. It seems to me that the wet signal (when the pedal is on) is louder than the dry one. Has anybody else experienced that also? Could it be caused by worn elements in the circuit due the time? Since the pedal doesn’t have a volume control (unlike a cry baby bass) it becomes bit annoying, especially if I want to use it in a solo...
