i just bought a used eden 410xlt cabinet...700w, 8ohms, powering it with a qsc 2450. i am getting very good tone and good volume. i'm using a 5 string with low b and the problem occurs when i hit those low notes. i don't think it is the speakers themselves rattling or distorting because if i put pressure with my hand on the back of the cab by the input jacks it goes away. it's like there is something loose in the back. i haven't opened anything up yet but it seems very solidly built. anyone experience this type of problem? any help is appreciated. thank you. by the way i tried to call eden and was on hold for 45 min before i hang up, and i emailed them a week ago with no response...not much in the tech support dept.
Most likely the "rattling" you are hearing is air rushing in and out of the speaker jack. If you put your finger over the open 1/4" jack, and it goes away, there is the problem. I've noticed this with several cabs (including my own Eden D410XST cab). Try finding a rubber stopper that fits in a 1/4" hole (I found mine at Home Depot), if that's the problem. If it's not, PM me, as I know the Eden folks and can intervene on your behalf. Trust me, they want to make sure the people using their stuff are happy, and if they hear what happened to you, they will make a point of rectifying the situation!
...i will try that probably tomorrow and see what happens. thanks for the advice. if it doesn't work i will get back in touch with you. thanks again. ben.
