I need some serious advice about this Combo. I've heard it's capable of great things, but I've also heard stories about reliability issues. Any truth in this?

Any input on the amp (specifically this Combo in general, not any old Eden product) would be seriously appriciated.

I had an Eden Metro combo for around 5 yrs......great tone, loud and,for me, ultra reliable....never let me down.

It's a great combo, and they can be picked up quite reasonably priced used.

Only down side for me was its weight. I found it a heavy and awkward one man lift.

  4. I owned a Metro for a few months. It's as loud as any 210 that I've heard, and it had a nice barky tone that cut through nicely. I bought it used and had no reliability issues. The only reason I sold it was because it was waaay too heavy to gig with (YMMV).

I own a Metro. I think it's great. The reviews @ Harmony Central mostly refer to the older Metros (check the post dates). There were some problems with the early units, but they have since taken care of that. My Metro is one of the older ones, but I've had no trouble. Check the reviews @ http://www.bgra.net/2004/browse.php?type=combo&page=1&order=DATE&dir=down&char=e.
Also, go to the Eden Forum and check out whats said there http://www.eden-electronics.com/forum/default.asp. My only complaint would be the weight, but the sound is worth it. Good luck with your decision.
