I was browsing a local pawn shop and saw a dusty (not abused, just sitting) but fully intact Eden Metro DC210XLT. It had several mark down stickers. Current price is $400. I don't need another amp and I certainly don't need one that heavy.

If it works, is it worth making a low ball offer?

Its a kickass amp. That the lowest price I've ever seen for one.

Tell the seller you need something to learn amp repairs on and offer $200. Just make sure it works, or you will be needing something to practice amp repairs on :D

I'd see if there is interest at $200, It is running contra to the modern trend of lighter so he should negotiate to move it while heavy used stuff is still around. $400 ain't no big deal.

I agree, $200 sounds about right. Pawn shops usually pay 15% on the dollar so it's still a win-win for them and they just want to move product out the store. Offer 200, stay tight if they don't take it, too bad for them.

It's not worth more than that because remember you're going to have the same trouble selling it yourself.

Yeah I was thinking of offering $150 with $200 being top dollar for me.

  10. Zero chance they take 200 if listed for 400. 400 is too high though. That cab is 250 all day

That all depends on how much they have in it and how long it's been collecting dust in the corner. The pawn shop is a biz... they have no emotional attachment to anything but money.

The amp had several price tags on it. The oldest of which look like it was from an inventory system I used it a music store almost 20 years ago. I would not be surprised if it's been there over 10 years. That original price was over $700 yes. Then it was marked down near $500 then marked down to $400.

I'm not sure that I'm going to go back there. If I do I will post a picture.

  15. It’s not just a cab, it’s the combo, the Metro.

I couldn’t sell mine for $500 so I just moved into my basement and it’s my practice/rehearsal rig now.

I will say when I gigged it I had to use an extension cabinet, it was never enough with just 250 Watts into the internal 210. But the amp sounds great and is 2 Ohm stable.

I have no idea what it’s worth, but I would be surprised if they sold it for $200. That would be a complete steal. I think $400 is high but acceptable, and $300 to $350 would be a good price.

But start low, see what you can get it for. I’d say anything $275 or less is a bargain, but that’s just my judgment, I have not been researching Reverb and Craigslist sales, or the classifieds here.

Reverb just seems to be another vendor outlet posing as an individual seller. They ask outrageous amounts for shipping. I was interested in a bass and the cost to ship it from California was $120! Unless they plan on using shipping as another form of profit.

If it works fine and you can get it for $400, that's the cheapest price I've ever heard of for one. It's a great amp that has great sound. It has two preamp channels - one is a hybrid channel (with tube) and the other is a total FET channel. You can set different EQ's on each and switch back and forth with the foot pedal. Be sure to ask if they have the foot pedal for it.

At 78-lbs, it's no lightweight, but it will easily cover any small, medium, and even some large clubs just fine. A friend of mine has one and he will add a 112 to it when playing really large clubs. The 2006 version of it put out 300-watts into 8 ohms/550-watts into 4 ohms/ and 750-watts into 2 ohms. They were discontinued in 2010 and you rarely find a used one now days. That's a crazy low price on a great amp.

Even if they won't budge on the price, that's a steal!

That's not a cab. That is a combo that is basically an Eden D210XLT powered by a 750-watts @2 ohms amp (300 at 8 ohms and 550 at 4 ohms). The amp has two separate preamps built-in. One is a hybrid preamp with a 12ax7 tube and possibly the most versatile EQ system ever devised (three slightly overlapping semi-parametric EQ's plus the normal bass and treble). The other channel runs through an FET front end with a simplified EQ. You can use a footswitch to toggle between channels.

And NO...even if it was just the D210XLT cab...you couldn't touch a used one for $250.

I just bought an Eden 2X10 for $275 I believe. I had been looking for a few years to finally find one below $300. That's just for the speaker cabinet.

  20. Ah I missed that it’s the metro combo. 400-500 is the going rate for those now it seems. The cab can be found for 250 easily. I’ve seen them go for even less too.
