Eden should offer a 1 RU preamp..

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Michael Vee, Nov 2, 2005.

  1. .. based on the newer WT-405 head preamp section.

Those WT-390 and WT-405s really sound great. If you run the preamp out into a power amp, it's amazing (and I have.)

I would gladly buy a WT-405 based 1 RU preamp if Eden does decide to offer it.

Opinions, chiming ins, amens, you betchas?

I have an eden wp100 navigator.
I know it's 2ru, it's worth it for all the dang features!
    In a 4 space soft bag with a qsc/plx1602-BAM!

Not sure about 1U, but Eden is looking into developing a preamp based on the WP405:

I think that would be a no-brainer purchase for me. I'm using an Acme Low B-2 8 ohm cab, so I really need a power amp. But I love the simplicity of the Eden preamp in the 405.

    I dunno...
I went and looked at the ededn website, and I really appreciate the wp100's added features over the 405, especially the semi-para eq section, stereo v bridged, compressor features, DI features...

    just me tho, YMMV

I picked the WT-330 over the WT-500 at the time because I liked the solid-state preamp in the WT-330 over the more traditional Eden tube preamp. Personal preference; I thought the WT-330's preamp was cleaner and the WT-500 had an exaggerated "tube" sound (read, soft). That's just personal preference.

I would consider purchasing a 1U rack preamp from Eden to throw in with my Demeter VTBP-201s, Kern IP-777, and SWR IOD.

I'd actually like to see them kepp it 2ru but offer it w/ an 800, or so, watt power section.

I like the features of that pre a lot, but haven't tried one. I like the Edens w/ the one pre tube.
