Eden WT series preamps

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by silentstranger, Oct 5, 2002.

  1. Does the entire Eden WT amp series use the same preamp but with varying power and features (crossover and whatnot), or are there actually fundamental differences in the sound/electronics? I tried calling Eden about this, but they're not open on weekends and I kinda need to make some decisions based on this knowledge ASAP...

they all sound the same. ive heard some say that the wt 800 doesnt sound as good as the traveler heads but i dont buy it because the 800 is pretty much two 400's in a bigger case. i own an 800 and have played through the 400 many times and it sounds the same to me.

The basic design of the preamp seems to be the same (I own a WT-400 and recently borrowed a WT-800) but they have different patching capabilities. If you're running a complicated effects setup the 800 is definitely more versatile. Both heads sounded identical when I ran the same tone settings through an SWR Goliath Jr. III 2x10 cabinet.
