Yeah... Yellow and black - YUK!! They're still prettier than the chrome grill and faceplates that SWR is using now.... thank goodness that mine are older!
i could care less how the damn things look, they sound extraordinary to me, and that makes me want one quite badly, and found a combo i want, unforunatley if i could find the good deal in head an cab pieces i could buy at least one part now, but don't have the money for the whole thing damnit
LOL... so you decided you dont like eden amps simply because of the way they look... does that mean you're gonna buy some squire stagemaster guitar, because it looks kNeWl.
Well, I like the Eden look (as you might expect), because they're easy to identify from the audience. That way, those in the know will recognize that, while my playing may suck, my equipment doesn't.
i have one thing and one thing only to say about this...IT'S A FREAKIN' AMP! as little as people care about the bassist in general i can't even imagine how little they care about what their freakin' amp looks like. i can understand wanting your bass to look nice and perty but to me carring what your amp looks like is just obscene.
I didn't see anywhere that Davy said he didn't like Edens... He just said they're ugly! I mean, c'mon... My mom's ugly, but I'm kinda partial to her!! -robert
Some of us are extremely unimpressed with those who flaunt their wealth (or more likely, their excessive borrowing). In fact it has the opposite effect on me - I find it pathetic. I can afford any rig but showing off is the last thing on my mind. However, it should look presentable on a stage, and that is all. Sorry for the rant. - Mike
I like the way my Eden looks. Sorta dignified in a strange Bass Amp sorta way. That, and the sounds cranking out of that SOB are unwordly. My gripe: I only have a WT-300, and with the planned 2x15 extension...need MORE POWER! (rant rant rant)....
Flaunt their wealth, eh? Haven't you heard? Spending money is now patriotic! A couple more basses and a Mackie PA system for me, and those god-forsaken Talibs can have another cruise missile. For the record, the last piece of gear I bought on credit was my first bass guitar and amp, a '65 P-bass and Bassman 50 combo, both for $350. I borrowed the money from AVCO in 1977, and I've only got two more payments of $15 to make, and they'll be ALL mine. Well, they would be if some hoser hadn't stolen them in 1980.
I like 'me... I just agree that they're ugly. VoodooChile's got a point too... the only people that would probably even notice are other bass players, and most of us like 'em.
I hate gold accents on anything. Edens are great, but I too would never get one because of the gross gold horn and badge. Sadly, I have always been an aesthetics obsessed person and am unable to buy anything, especially expensive things, unless I think it looks good. I have actually bought thinks just because they look cool. I spent almost $400 on a minidisc recorder that I didn't need because I thought it looked cool. I hope I will never make a mistake like that again. I also think chrome SWRs look awesome!
