Edmonton repair/luthier?

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by kurt, Oct 8, 2013.

  1. Can anyone recommend a good Luthier in Edmonton that can do good fretwork? I got a new bass that has a couple high frets that need to be leveled. I actually live in Lethbridge but will be going to Edmonton for a while. If not Edmonton is there somebody in Calgary or elsewhere? I don't want to just drop it off at the local guitarshop and roll the dice if you know what I mean! Thanks.

  2. Hey, there's people on the forum from Edmonton (or, in this case, coming to the city for a spell)??? That's cool, I didn't know that.

Can't really help with a specific luthier. Honestly, if something went awry with any of my guitars, I'd take them to Axe.

  3. FYI if you're reading this now, I've changed my mind about Axe. Either J. Haven on Whyte Ave or Myrhe's on 118th are my upgraders/repairers of choice now.

There was a recent thread about recommended techs. I don't recall seeing very many (if any) Canadians on the list. Perhaps it's time for a new thread on Canadian techs/luthiers?
