Looking for the sound Alphonso Johnson had with his Precision on Weather Report's track Lusitanos on Tale Spinnin'.
It was 1974 so I'm assuming it was a MutronIII?

    Any suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks

  2. Cool tune! MuTron III is a good choice but there were several others available at the time including EHX Dr Q and the rare Seamoon Funk Machine. FWIW the DOD FX25 or FX25B really cop that sound quite well.

Alphonso had an endorsement deal with the Musitronics folks, so Mutron III is a good bet.

I'm not sure about Tailspinnin' but Cucumber Slumber is a wah wah pedal, I think one of those big chrome Morleys.

Lusitanos sounds like a Mutron to me.
