Ok, i have pedal board with 4 effects pedals. What is the right sequence that i must connect . I have : Boss GEB7 equalizer, Ibanez PD7, Ibanez SB7 and some cheap boss tremolo pedal ... PLeaSE help!!
I would love to help, but I don't know everybody's model numbers. Care to elaborate on what a PD7 and an SB7 are?
PD7 - Phat Head bass distortion SB7 - Bass Synth Not everyone can know everything, but I can... Well at least about bass gear... Alex
Well, ok then, here's how I would do it: 1. Synth 2. EQ 3. Distortion 4. Tremelo There is no right or wrong way to hook up pedals, so this is only a suggestion. Try it in as many configs as possible; you may find you like something better. Tecx, perhaps you could help me hook my stuff up. I have: XR905, M2000, RMC3, PS3E, CC1, WH4, & FX75B.
Ok... Since you havn't given me any manufacturer names I'll try my best... RMC3 - RMC wah (red?..) FX75B - DOD stereo flanger damn... thats all I got... But if you gave me the manufacturers names I could probobly get em all... You and I are the 2 bigest gear sluts on here , well at least with pedals / effects / rack gear.... Cheers Alex
I would sugest the same as B.T.A., I would scoup some of them nasty high mids from the sb7 (well on synth 1-2)... I wish I has a eq pedal to do that actualy... cheers Alex
Heh, those are the only items I have that go by numbers; everything else goes by a proper name. Buster, Fuzzprobe, Meatball, BassTriaxis, etc.... I may be seriously pushing the effects envelope soon. A pal of mine who used to work at Nothing Studios just got a gig at TC Electronics, which means deep discounts for me on a G-Force and a FireworX. Man, my rack is going to be a wiring nightmare.
How about helping me out with my FX chain: Trace Elliot Dual Compressor Akai Deep Impact Akai Unibass Fulltone Bassdrive Sovtek Big Muff EBS BassIQ MXR Phase 90 Boss BF-2 Flanger Line6 DL-4 Delay Ernie Ball Volume This is the way that I'm planning on connecting them up - any better ideas? Alex
Let us see... hmmm... Trace Elliot Dual Compressor Akai Deep Impact Akai Unibass Fulltone Bassdrive EBS BassIQ Boss BF-2 Flanger Ernie Ball Volume Line6 DL-4 Delay Sovtek Big Muff MXR Phase 90 thats how I would do it... Alex
Here's the way you should REALLY do it... (pay no attention to that Tecx character ) Deep Impact Bass IQ Bassdrive Unibass Big Muff Compressor Volume In the FX loop: Phaser Flange Delay Sometimes a phaser sounds better before the amp. If this is the case, put it before the volume. Don't put your compressor before your synths, envelope filters, or distortions, or you will kill any kind of response you would have gotten out of those effects.
Ok you got me on the compresion bit... except for the bass IQ I would agree with you... Now lets pull em out and see who can urinate farther... Alex ps. mabey not, could be dangerous to your helth (and your computer...)
Hey boys. Come on now. Play nicely now. You wouldn't want me to take away your grown-up musicial toys now would you?
Haha! That's awesome. The reason I usually put my envelope filters before my distortions is that I like how the distortions freak out when the envelope hits them. Sounds like you are stomping on baby ducks with golf shoes.
Noooo That is awsome!!! II \/ We have very simalar and sick tastes my friend, quite indeed... Ever heard the froswave funk a duck?.. That sounds like a duck on lsd, great pedal... Alex
I've heard the funk a duck on their website. Seems cool. Right now I am Jonesing for some TC Electronics rack stuff (mainly because I can get them cheap ). Some 4ms pedals would be nice too. Sick and twisted is good.
Hey you there!! Tnx for suggestions , i'll experiment with pedals a while what you think about this : 1. EQ 2. Synth 3. Dist. 4. Tremolo ?? Anyway, tnx! Peace ....
Not a bad setup, but I usually like to run the EQ after the synth. Reason being is that I look at the synth as replacing my original bass sound, so in effect in becomes my bass. You don't put an EQ before your bass, do you? Having the EQ after the synth allows you to EQ the synth sounds, but having it before the synth does nothing for you, since the synth will eat any effect the EQ gives you.
Sorry there is a mistake in the list The right thing is: 1.Synth 2. Dist 3.EQ 4. Trem. Ok, i've got the idea about placing EQ after Synth... Tnx!
ok loop masters. Lets see what you recomend on this. Currently i am setup as follows in line to the input of my amp (SWR SM900) Ernie Ball Volume Pedal Fulltone Bass Drive EH Bass Syth EH PolyChorus DOD Envelope Fileter I am noticing a pretty severe loss of signal with this config and playing direct in with no effects sounds so much better. I need these effects though. Any ideas? I am starting to fool around with putting everything through the effects loop and using the effects blend on the front of the amp...but it still seems to have a signal loss. Please help.
