I'm just wondering if anyone knows HOW (if there is a way) to get a signal to your amp that is clean bass AND run a signal through and effects board? So, you would have two signals, one being clean bass and one being effected bass. I've always liked some of the effects that my brother uses, but I don't like the way he loses the clean bass sound to get them... I just want to know if it's possible to have both?
I can do that. I have 2 amps. I have a chorus with 2 outs and one is clean, one is chorus. From the clean out, I run a distortion. The chorus-ed out goes straight to another amp. I have a picture of my signal chain, including electrical connections (I was bored)
For a mono application get a couple of A/B boxes; one to split the signal of your clean sound, send one line into your effects and leave the other line clean or add what other effects you want. Use the other A/B box to merg the the two signals into one if you don't have stereo inputs on your amp.
Boss LS-2 Put whatever effect(s) you want on loop A. Select mix A/B. Effect will be mixed with clean signal. Just gain/signal strength for effects (A) and clean signal (B). In A/B Mix mode it automatically mixes a clean signal if nothing is in the B loop. Works similar to an effects loop with wet/dry adjustment, except each has it's own gain. I use the Boss LS-2 as a 'effects loop' pedal.
