Effects Return dB/ohms + preamp = will it work?

(I searched, but the only thing I got out of it is that it all depends on the stats of the effects return, and the they are manufacturer specific.. sooooo..)

I had the idea of purchasing just a preamp insted of a new head and use my Warwick as a poweramp. One simple question for those that understand more about dB's and ohms:

My Warwick ProFet has an effects return with these stats: 0 dB / 10k Ohms.

If I bought an (e.g) Ampeg SVT-CL Preamp and plugged it into the Effects return, would it work ok with those stats?

    Thanks. :)
