Effects send into combo amp

    I don't have the highest income, and as a result, I can't afford to buy a whole rig outright, I've purchased an amplifier that should be arriving in the next few days. My question is: If I were to take a signal from it from the effects loop send and run it into the input of my combo amp, what would the result be? Fine or disastrous?

    Oh, forgot...make sure you keep the volume off in the combo and turn it up gradually just in case your signal from the first amp is way hot.
