Whoa whoa whoa. Anyone else know about this? I heard that they are selling these overseas but they are not doing this in the states. I read about this on thegearpage. So rad! buy one here! http://www.musik-produktiv.co.uk/electro-harmonix-deluxe-memory-man.aspx
We got an explanation about why its EU only over on the EHX forums from Scott Matthews, the son of EHX founder Mike Matthews.
Long story short they found a cache of the panasonic "bucket brigade" chips used in the DMM and produced a batch for the European market. In these XO DMMs, the panasonic chips are mounted on a "platform" that is attached to the rest of the board. There has been speculation that a platform with a different chip configuration could be used in manufacturing a larger run of these for wider distribution. I got one of these EURXO DMMs from Cthulhu not long ago. It sounded awesome and while I did not personally a/b it with another DMM, as far as I am concerned it IS the real thing. I ended up going with a Malekko 600 Bright for my everyday delay needs, so the EURXODMM was traded.
if it's 9v then to answer what you really wanna know you will be fine using it on the states EDIT: it's 24v centre +ve so power could be an issue.
Yeh, I'd seen it showing in stock in the UK here. Personally, I'm happy with my SMMH and don't feel the need for analogue delay but I know the DMM is meant to be the mutt's nuts if that's what you're after. Surely the pedal is the same anywhere in the world? It doesn't work on mains voltage so the country is irrelevant? No?
Country is irrelevant. The XO DMM will work anywhere as long as you have the proper adapter. In the States, you can just use EHX's 24VDC adapter or an equivalent. As far as specs go, it's: 24VDC regulated 2.5mm barrel Center-positive In other words, typical specs for modern 24VDC EHX pedals. If anyone plans on "importing" one, the Euro adapters won't be of any use to you. Unless, of course, you're running it off your own private 220-230VAC source, stamped with a Union Jack.
This is true. It can also be powered off of a BBE Supa Charger or a PP+ if you have the necessary adapter
Here's the answer from Scott Matthews, son of EHX Owner Mike Matthews: as best as I understand it, the XO DMM is only available in some non-US marketsand thats because it was tweaked for European Union RoHS-complianceso there isnt an XO DMM in production for the US market. I have no information regarding when/whether a US XO DMM will become available. I totally wish I could be more specific, but thats really the best I can do!
