Yes, that's correct, they're the same amp; you can actually separate the amp from the case and utilize the more commonly found format if preferred.
I actually prefer the aesthetic on a larger cab, along with the more robust housing. It resolves any potential vibrational "walking" concerns and potential mishaps.
