I just bought a used El Capitan acoustic bass and I'd like to replace the strings. I plan to use it for country/bluegrass. Any suggestions on strings?

I as well own an acoustic bass, but I have a Martin. I've tried out a couple different strings, I think for you the best ones would be D'Addarios. The ones I like best tonally are TI Nylon Acousticores, but they don't have the projection the D'Addarios do. I've heard the DRs are pretty good, but I've never tried them. Anyway, there's some suggestions.

I don't have an acoustic bass, but I got DR's on my acoustic guitar and they are excellent. I'm sure the bass strings are worth getting.

I use Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats on my Tacoma CB-10. They have a great blend of qualities of both roundwounds (sustain, brightness) and flats (dark, acoustic sound). Since they are very low-tension strings, I haven't had any problems with them on my acoustic.
