Unlined fretless, rosewood fingerboard, has side dots for every fret. Has an active 18 volt preamp with a weird quasi parametric EQ. Turn it one way and it boosts the bass and lowers the center frequency, turn it the other way and it boosts the highs and raises the center frequency. P/J pickups, phase switch, active/passive switch and passive tone control. Currently strung with Fender black tapewound strings. Comes with original hardshell case. Finish is in good condition, for a twenty year old bass that has seen a lot of gigging. No belt buckle rash. Neck attaches to body with machine screws which go into threaded metal inserts. One of the machine screws has boogered up threads, it willm not screw in all the way. Sticks out about 1/10 of an inch. Neck joint is very stable, in spite of this. Hardware is all black. Bridge has a couple of scratches that go through the finish. Black paint on back of neck. 2 screw holes on front of bass where a finger rest was mounted by a previous owner. I do not have the finger rest. Build wise this bass is superior to a MIM Fender. I like the electronics and consider them superior as well, but some people may not like them. Bass gets a great P bass tone, a decent bridge Jazz tone, and with the preamp there are many other tones available as well. Picture below.
