Does anyone have any reviews/sound clips, or pictures of people playing with these amps?

I would be looking at the 180watt one with 4 kt88 tubes.

How do you think this would sound through my Ampeg svt-610hlf cab?

Is it true that it is basically an old orange? I have been thinking of getting an Orange AD200B, and I thought it would be cool to have basically the same thing, but not the same thing at all. Get what I'm saying?

Anyways, anything you have of these amps, comments, suggestions, hate mail, pictures, soundclips (especially), or a list of some bands that use them would be great! Oh yeah, and places that sell these things.

    Thanks!

check out the sound clips on their website. the green ones are on www.greenamps.com. i listened to their guitar amps a while back and i thought they sounded terrible, but i've never been a fan of orange and these seem like they're trying real hard to rip off orange tone.

The sound clips on the page are live. The guitarist is using one, and the bassist is using one as well. The bass is through 2 of their 215 cabs.

The tone of the guitar is just a bassic stoner doom tone.

I'm sure it can do much more.

Matamp and Electric amp are both highly sought after in the doom world.

    Anywho

    Peace

Yeah, I'm just going to be blunt and say if you did a search you'd have your answer. We've had several threads, and the last big one included a link to the complete "definitive" history of the relationship between Electric, Green, Orange, Matamp, etc.

Edit: I'll admit when I searched on "Green" the thread I was referring to was on the fifth page of results, so not quite as easy to find as I thought it would be. Here's the article on the company history and relationship to Orange:

matamp! thats the name i couldn't think of (probably should have dug a little). those go for good money if you can get your hands on an older one.

the bass sounds good for doom, very boomy, not really defined IMO. i can see why they're popular for that genre.

i guess i'm asking for the same thing as the OP, but i'd like to hear cleaner or solo bass recordings before i was to consider buying.

I hear what you're saying for sure.

I think what it really comes down to is, there needs to be some sound clips of differet eq and gain settings, and not poor quality and poor lo-fi live stoner doom.

I've never tried one, but I have heard many remarks on these amps being monsters.

    Peace

EDIT: BTW TB'er Nick Man has a Black Amp (essentially the same thing) message him and ask his opinion on the amp.
