electric bass vs. accoustic bass. pros and cons

I prefer both of them actually! My Carvin AC-50F is a fretless electric-acoustic, and it works very well in a jazzy sort of setting. It has great tone (very resonant) it weighs something like 5 or 6 lbs and it's a lot of fun to play. It is a very shallow body so it needs to be amplified, but the shallow body prevents it from feeding back with high stage volume.

My Ric is a pleasure to play. Frets are very forgiving, and it has a very different but still wonderful tone. It's a bit heavier at around 9lbs, but it is perfectly suited to rock.

Seeing as how I'm in a rock band these days I tend to play the electrics almost exclusively in public, but the acoustic is still a lot of fun when I get together with people to jam.
