So if you haven't heard of E-Cigarettes yet, you may want to look them up. Essentially its a vaporizer for nicotine oil that looks like a cigarette. Now I don't condone smoking to anyone, its an awful habit that no one should do; I think we all get that. But regardless I like a cig after a show, well I picked up an e-cigarette and so far, these things are amazing.

It feels like a real cigarette and you not actually inhaling combusted plant matter :hyper: You even exhale a vapor that looks a bit like smoke.

The FDA has made statements about them recently that they do pose health risks and contain anti-freeze. Personally I think its a bit of scare tactic, they do however contain propyl alcohol which is a common food additive. They are actually banned in several countries, and suspect the ban stick might come to America soon (remember Salvia a few years ago).

Compared to tobacco cigarettes there is no comparison of which is less terrible for you. Its also helped certain friends give up tobacco cigarettes entirely, and these are a carton a week kind of people.

Just wondering your guys thoughts on them.

Really, if you don't smoke, don't try this. That's ridiculous. This is truly aimed at people that smoke, maybe have tried quitting in the past, or have no intention of quitting. Its a nicotine alternative.

The post may seem a bit like an ad, but I'm just sort of excited about the new gadget right now.

The kit I picked up was 60 bucks, and comes with the equivalent of about 2 packs of cigarettes. You can buy refill bottles for 20 bucks which are about a carton with a nicotine. Different flavors too, all sorts of fruity things (this is also a part of the FDAs disapproval of the devices, seeing that they may attract kids to smoke).

Speaking of smell though, its nice not smelling like a cigarette today or tasting it all day for that matter.

I'm not a fan. As a pack-a-day smoker, I find the combustion as essential a part of it as the nicotine itself. In fact, I'd venture to say that I don't really want/need the nicotine as much as I simply enjoy the act of smoking. I've quit before, I've gotten all the addiction out of my system, and I go back because I enjoy it.

I will say this, though, I'm sure its somewhat healthier, and not smelling like stale smoke is definitely a positive.

^When I used to be addicted to cigarettes, I realized this was my addiction. Even when using nicotine patches while trying to quit, I realized it's more of the physical act that can be more addictive to some people. Honestly, what really helped me quit, was accelerating my cannabis habit. Not the best alternative, but I feel much healthier now it being one year since I've quit my pack a day habit. I go on runs several times a week and hit the gym in between, things I would normally have struggled with had I been smoking cigs.

If I'm gonna smoke an electronic cigarette, it's gonna have to look a lot cooler than that.

Gimme some chrome and blue LEDS. Hell, have it match my BB750 and i'll be happy.

Increasing my cannaboid intake helped me quit also, but unfortunately I can function a whole lot better smoking cigarettes than being stoned most of the day. :p

Also, Salvia is still legal in most states (at least, its legal here if you're over 18)

  11. Not in Virginia. Cuase virginia has to outlaw smoking in restaurants and be stupid.

You also pay like $3.50 a pack, so I don't want to hear it from you, unless you're telling me you've shipped the SC.

For the record, I pay 7 bucks a pack (a day), or $30 for a tin of rolling tobacco (lasts me about two weeks)-depending on whether I'm rolling my own or not.

I don't smoke, but literally every single person I hang out with does, and many- if not most of them- have e-cigarettes. They mainly smoke them as a novelty, but usually just smoke cigarettes. I will agree though, that the smell is certainly better than nasty cigarette smoke; I can go home smelling like fruity water vapor instead of like a bar.
