Anyone ever play one of these? Ive liked them ever since I saw Mike Watt and Kim Gordon play them.

I loved the one I have played. If you are a fan of vintage tones (read thumpy), then you will probably like it.

The one I played got a good tone similar to a Jazz with the tone controls on and both pickups selected. With the neck pickup selected and the tone control rolled off it sounded like a thumpy old P bass.

I am a fan of thick necks and short scale basses so I really had to will myself to put that one down. I can't attest to the supposed neck-dive issues though, as I didn't test it with a strap.

In my experience, any amount of neck dive can be cured with a wide, correctly adjusted, non-slip strap.
