Elixir Strings

I currently own a Music Man Stingray 4 string. I want to put new Elixir strings on it, all my friends tell me to get them. Is it a wise purchase, or should I just stick to the 25 dollar Ernie Ball strings as opposed to the 50 dollar elixirs?

The Elxirs will last a lot longer than the Ernie Balls. I used to use them on my P-bass and liked them a lot. I still use them on my acoustic guitar.
  3. If you enjoy the slippery feel of Elixir's (I do) they are more cost effective then uncoated strings.

i put on a set of elixir about three weeks ago. it is first time trying elixir on bass. as i felt on my acoustic guitar, i feel the same slippery feel. i think i got pretty used to it, but it feels very slippery in the beginning. it required more attention to get any notes than regular strings. In my point of view, that greasy feeling was only complain.
