Just curious if anyone just bought an NJS from a guy in Florida?

  2. Sorry, I didn't buy it but I have a question, if you don't mind. It seems that you own an Elrick NJS 5 string. I might get an Elrick NJS 5 string fretted. I would like to know how the B sting holding up? I mean the characteristic of the B string on an Elrick. Is it always in tune, and stuff like that.

    Thanks

The B string on my fretless is excellent. Sustains like crazy, big open, deep sound but very controllable.

I had committed to buying the one on bassgear and was told I was the first in line. Told the guy I wanted to buy it. Found out the pic he had up was not of the actual bass so he said he'd send pics. Got the pics two days later in the early morning, responded immediately that I wanted to talk to him about payment arrangement. He responded the next day that he just shipped the bass out... and didn't know I wanted to buy it, even though it says just that in the email string.

Chances are I'm better off not buying something from an ass like this. It's still annoying.

Brad, you probably are better off. If you really wanted to be an A$$ right back, you might have a good case to sue for specific performance.

I think it's just better to bitch, moan, and complain that the guy was a jerk, rather than let the court system fight on your behalf over a 4 to 5 year period before you get an overly worn Elrick that was once in good shape.

Or, of course, if you know an attorney who'd write a letter, you could always have a letter sent to the seller that demands performance (of the contract), but you don't have to follow up.

    I'll say it for you, since I know you're pissed...What an A$$!!!

  5. Cool, glad everything turned out ok though. yeah I own the Elrick Jazz 4 strings fretted, 21 frets, the more I play it, the more it fits and feels perfectly in my hands. I bought it from G Guitars(I always try to buy from a dealer), set up perfectly, as you said, the sustain is like crazy, I love it, it goes on forever, it seems.

I am interested the one at BassNW, 5 strings, with exhibition grade quilted maple. Might get it.

I agree, RAM... I have no desire to get legal about it. Anyone who could read could clearly see I committed to buying the bass in my emails before he sold it to anyone else.

I've had people take their time responding to me during a sale so I didn't think anything of it. The funny thing is, he had no problem responding to me today. I'd guess he sold it for more than the asking price and is too much of a chicken%^@$ to admit it. The guy then tells me I'm a loser and probably couldn't afford it.

Apparently he's a cop in Tampa Bay. My hero!

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone here got it. It appeared to be a nice bass and a good deal at the advertised price. I don't want it anymore... I have a feeling I can find another one. Every once in a while a real weasel pops up;)

I saw that one... it has Aeros and a Demeter preamp... I have no idea what that would sound like. Here's the one that was on Bassgear.com for $1250:

The hardest part of dealing with a dick like this is not becoming one yourself. I'm glad I don't live anywhere near Florida;)
