ELTON DEAN dies in London at the age of 61

    ELTON DEAN, my long time friend, current member of THE SOFT MACHINE
    LEGACY and SOFT BOUNDS, one of the greatest sax player ever, an
    undisputed legend of the British jazz scene and member of the seminal
    experimental jazz-rock innovators Soft Machine during their golden
    period, died early this morning in London at the age of 61.

    Just quick update that the new member of THE SOFT MACHINE LEGACY is
    THEO TRAVIS soprano & tenor sax, flute, loops, pedals, electronic
    effects
    Theo successfully played the recent SOFT MACHINE LEGACY gig in Milton
    Keyns, UK on February 1st, 2006.
    Theo Travis is a well establish musician known for his touring and
    recording association with Gong, David Sylvian, Mick Karn, Steve
    Jensen, Richard Barbieri, DJ Krush, Palle Mikkleborg, Phil Miller,
    Daevid Allen, John Marshall, John Etheridge and many other musicians
    from the "Canterbury" scene.
