Can anybody share any info on how the infestation of the emerald ash bore is affecting prices for ash? I understand that a lot of dead trees are on the market, but what about future supplies? I also understand that there is a new walnut pest in North America too.

  2. I've got a big giant dead Ash in my front yard. It's really sad, my entire community has about one fifth of the trees on every block dead or dying.

Very interesting question I'm curious about that myself.

My guess is that the market is flooded or will soon be flooded with lots of heavy northern ash. People who want to make accurate Seventies Fender Jazz clones will be in luck.

I agree that all of the trees dying is sad. The rapid migration of terrible pests is a downside of globalization.
