Im using the EMG GZR in my sandblasted p bass with dunlop super bright nickel rounds

seems to be to much mid grind for my liking

GZRs are great. Change your strings

P Bass pickup with less “grind” = Fender Custom Shop ‘62.

Also, honorable mention for the Dimarzio DP250 Area P.

Before swapping pickups, try lowering the pickup height (so the pickup is sitting farther away from the strings).

If that doesn’t solve your tonal goals, check out the Arcane 65.

Based on the video above something like DR Sunbeams. I hear a good amount of midrange from the pickups in that video but with a string that's not so aggressive.

Just looked at the comments on YouTube and he says he used Elixer Super Lights on the Precision. Didn't say which variety though.

I find the Sunbeams and Super Brights get pretty similar after a few weeks
I keep coming back to Duncan SPB-1.
They sound pretty close to vintage pup's and I find them sensitive to finger style playing.
Plenty of great choices out there.

    I’m fond of Aguilar’s AG 4P-60 pickup.
But, the Geezer is a good pickup too.

I suggest trying out a set of GHS Pressure wound strings first.
