How do I identify which EMG pick ups I have in a (1977) PJ Anderson bass? There is a 9V battery in the unshielded cavity.

I would like to set this bass up as best as possible with Pope pre (ala Fodera) or whatever will work best with the existing PUs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the original P and LJ models. You can look on the bottom of the pickups for the year they were made (in code letters; A=1, B=2, etc.).

Should work fine with the Pope. it has jumpers you set for active pickups.
