Hi! I have a nice Warwick Corvette and I'm about to upgrade the pickups (and the electronics for active ones but later). I've bumped on good deals on both EMG active J-set and Duncan Basslines STK-J2 set. The music i'm playing is mainly fusion jazz and some 80's rock stuff.

I'm conserned the STK might be too hot (not so clear highs, nor very growly distinctive mids etc.) and EMG too sterile (clear lows and highs but no meat :) ). Also, would I need active preamp for the active EMG pickups?

On this part of the globe the good pickups with good price are quite hard to find so I'm pretty much settled on these two choices.

    So, any tips?
