EMG JX set's volume potis aren't doing what they are supposed to do.

So I just got the EMG JX pickups and installed them together with the potis. I have a volume poti for each pickup and a tone poti.

The Problem:

both volume potis don't change the volume. Instead they both make the pick ups blend into each other.
I am not really sure but it seems that when both potis are turned into the same direction, both PUs are active (or only the neck one, not sure sound wise). Clockwise or counter clockwise doesn't matter. It sounds the same.

When they are turned into opposite directions I can definitely hear that only the bridge PU is working.

Did I make a mistake installing the set or did I get the wrong potis?

 

Okay, took everything apart and took another look at the manual. There is a very small hint in it that says that one of the connectors has to be plugged in upside down. This solved all my problems.
