right now i've got some kind of emg split coil pickup on my fender p-bass and it definaitly doesn't have enough "umph" if you know what i mean. there's definaitly not enough thump there for the lowend. so i was thinking about buying quarter pounders from basslines. will that fix my problem????

the 1/4 pounder will definitely give you more oomph than the emg.
  3. I'd recommend the DiMarzio Model P based on the fact that the Model J's I have on my Jazz thump like no other. Of course, two totally different beasts. I prefer DiMarzio's over Duncan's anyways. :ninja:

I don't have any experience with the EMGs, but I can tell you that switching to quarterpounders on my MIM Jazz provided a world of difference, like night and day. More presence, more thump, more sizzle.

    I rather like them.

Yep the quarter pounders will sound substantially different than the EMGs.

I just fitted a set of Seymour Duncan SPB-1 pups in my p bass.
    Best sounding pickups ever!
Loads of that P Bass thump! :bassist:
