I was just curious about using EMG active pickups and an OBP-3. I've looked at the OPB wiring diagrams and I've noticed something. The power in the OBP is wired through the box ok and with EMGs there are 3 wires a ground the wire with the signal and the wire that attaches to the battery but it looks like with the OBP-3 you wouldn't need that battery wire so what exactly happens to it? The inside wiring of a bass has always comfused me a little.

well, the diagrams on there assume passive pickups.

With passive pickups, you join the red wire from the preamp with the red battery +ve wire. If you want to use active pickups EMG's, you'd join all four red wires together. The rest of the wiring would be as per the diagram.
