I know it's subjective but I have an opportunity to buy these speakers and wanted some input as to which one would have a better tone in the lows and mids.

Additionally, has anyone here played an older SB112 and a newer SB112 neo? If so, tell me the tone differences.

  3. Delta 12LF has a -3dB dip around 600 Hz, and a generally more ragged mid response.

The 2512 has a smooth rising high end up to 2500 Hz.

The 2512 runs out of Xmax around 53 Hz at a much lower input power than does the 12LF.

Thanks Bgavin for your response and for all the PM correspondence! You've helped immensely with some decisions.

I wouldn't use a D12LF without a six or eight inch midrange driver. The DLII 2512 is fine on its own.

    Thank you Bill!

I'm leaning towards the DLII 2512 with a horn.

I will also be using this speaker for acoustic guitar and keyboards.
