    the question is simple...
Can I get a vintage tone out an Eminence Kappa 12"??

don't know why not. I have a Kappa Pro LF2 15" and it does a good job. Strings and pickup will do most of the determining on vintage sound.

I want to buy one of those earcandy 12" but I fear that the tone gets too modern...

That's a first. I thought Ear Candy was supposed to be all about the vintage vibe?

In a word... yes. Due mostly to it's limited frequency range - 3500hz is about as high as it goes. Nice stout sound in the right cabinet though.

I've used them in 12" and 15" and enjoyed both sizes for a 60s Mowtown sound. Jamerson's sound is IT, man!
