eminence speaker 300W RMS

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by rich37, Mar 10, 2002.

  1. I currently own a Kustom 2x15" 200 w RMS
    And a Hartke 210xl 200w RMS.
But my Hartke amp gives 2x 350W RMS at 4 ohms
The Kustom amp hasn't got enough power.

Now I saw that eminence speakers (are also in trace elliot, bag end etc.) are very cheap(300W RMS)
If I put them in my Kustom will that be enough?
Or should they be over 350W?

  2. Before making your decision, you should look at your available selection. An excellent source for Eminence (and other) pro guitar and bass speakers is Parts Express in Ohio. Check out their online catalog. They stock Eminence speakers to 1kW in handling!

Speaker boxes are tuned to the speakers in them: both the box volume and tuning matter. If you replace the speakers in the Kustom cab with something else it's a crapshoot what the low end frequency response will be and how it will sound.

  4. So you think these cabinets have only capacity for 200 w rms and not bigger?

In that case does somebody know where they sell empty boxes then?
