Here is Martin Sims explaining the Enfield pickup system in detail.
Tasty, I would really like to test drive one for about a month.
very cool in deed
5 demo's. Only one fingerstyle... and that one's super aggressive.
I guess the only 4 out of 5 Enfield buyers are expected to be slappers.
I wish more bass builders would provide 'realistic' real world tone demo's.... really.
They are real world tone demo's. They just happen to be slapping.
There are more demo's coming.
For now here's Hugh McDonald with Bon Jovi.
They kind of threw the KISS principle out the window.
The LEDs are really cheesy IMO.
The pickup selection options are so many that I think the LED's do a good job of helping show just where the bass is set.
Cudos to Enfield for being so innovative.
Man, I'm digging a lot of the tones there, and I seen a 6er one on the NAMM vid, very much gassy now.....
cool idea. very intensive electronics, i'd wager.
thanks for showing.
see the pic i've put in here: 6-coil pickup made for me by nordstrand.
front four coils are p-bass wind, back two coils are j-bass wind.
all passive, uses a 5-position rotary switch and 3-position toggle switch to get 11 combinations, including split p and reverse split p.
Very cool stuff, steubig! Carey really knows how to deliver odd yet effective combinations.
Jauqo, you frustrate me. No matter how hard I try, I just can't hate you. You always inform me of new, innovative gear and do so in a polite and informational manner.
WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?!
Thanks for the thread, dude! *thumbs up*
Oh, its easy, just think of all the gas and spent cash, and watch that red mist decend......
I actually remember trying this pickup at NAMM. It was a bit strange to look at, but pretty darn versatile.
mike cooper (head pikcup dude in the nordstrand custom shop) and i designed it based on carey's basic pickup designs and then carey helped us fine-tune it.
i think it kills.
I was asked to act as translator in a local bass shopw in Madrid, Spain. I spent all the day with Martin Sim and the many bassists looking at his Super 8 basses.
I was really surprised by the quality of his basses and evrsatility with the Super 8 pickups. The attention of details also to the the wood is excellent. Net a very quality bass and I'm thinking of buying one. Only thing that makes me thingis whether I take a bit hit if I decided to sell it becuase I don't fall in love with it over time. But if you need a versatile high quality bass, that one might fit the bill well.
I have no affiliation with Einfield by the way!
Slapperdy slapperdy clank clank clank....
Not this as 1:00 and until 1:30
I like it....
