That reminded me alot of what Ryan Martinie does, but ryan does it like that becuase he's strings are tuned so low that he gets a thump sound from that sort of "tapping".

    Whew! I'd say.

I just decided not to go out tonight. I'm going home and practicing instead.

    Thanks, 'Jus -

Ohh! Is that the DVD that has a part where they isolate just Ox's track alone?

Someone was telling me about this recently - I want to see that!

No, I think that's "The Kids are Alright" DVD. There's a Bonus feature where on... Won't Get Fooled Again, I think, there's some isolation footage of just him.

But, now that you mention it, I seem to recall hearing about a DVD where there are some iso tracks of just him. Anyone?

RABBER!! He's my main inspiration for the bass. Used to be Squire, but the Ox takes it all, now. :bassist:

Keep in mind Johns strings are like ON the fretboard when he's playing like that. So if you have the strings raised up a bit it will take alot more precision to hit them with the right amount of force so they will tap the frets without you tapping them hard enough play the note at where you tapped them. Not to mention there is no way you can you can play that fast like that without lowering your strings..

Oh yea and whats with them cutting off Ent's solo in that vid! What a rip off!

Holy hell. I didn't know he could play like that.

  12. Likewise, I knew he was a monster but I wasn't aware that he was a genuine bassist.
