Just wanted to thank you guys in advance for providing so much good advice.

In the last couple weeks I've pieced together what I think will be the last rig I buy for several years (pause for my wife to die laughing...)

    (drum roll please...)

SWR Grand Prix preamp: $174 shipped, broken input jacks soon to be fixed.

Stewart World 600: $225 shipped from musicgoround

    and, just won on e-bay...

    Epifani 2x12 for $560 shipped

MAN I can't wait for it all to get here... it should kick booty in just about every setting, and it's not much heavier than my EBS 210 combo (for sale:D ) which alsk kicked booty, but wasn't quite enough in some instances.

    yeah :bassist:

now I just gotta practice enough to deserve it. Epifani sounds sooooo nice!

now there's a kickin' deal if i ever saw one. then again, anything with an Epifani in there, would make me giddy. :D

Yeah... the epi's the piece de resistance. Debated whether I wanted the bulk for a long time, but I've decided it's worth the schlep. 75lbs isn't too bad, 'specially since the rack will only weigh like 18lbs!:D

I really like the Epi 212, especially in larger, open rooms that don't have a lotta glass. It really has a strong bottom end without the flub that 15's can sometimes give you. Not quite the punch of 10's, of course, but a pretty good compromise for a single, stand-alone cab. I find that mine is much tighter and more articulate if I get it up off the floor, too. Congrats!
